"The Alteration Center opened its doors 20 years ago, in February 1991, by Eugene and Rodica Todorut. The couple, having immigrated from Romania a few years prior, wanted to have their own business, where they would be able to provide their customers with high quality, detailed and immaculate alterations - just as they had learned this trade back home in Romania. Soon the business grew and word spread in the community that the Alteration Center did in fact provide alterations in a timely and clean manner, and the owners stood behind their work with pride.
Eugene and Rodica have two daughters who helped out at the shop regularly since it first opened. As the girls grew, so did their responsibilities and knowledge of the trade. Over the years, the girls attended local schools, then universities and eventually law schools. But one thing that didnt change was their appreciation of the family business, and the importance of continuing and sustaining the customer-base their parents had established over the past 20 years. When the parents wanted to begin traveling and "taking it easy", the girls stepped in and took over the shop. Today, it is being run full-time by the eldest daughter, but the same principles of attention to detail, quick turn-around, cleanliness, and customer respect are still the foundations for this business.
